Alligator Land!

For Memorial day we took a trip to a place called Brazos Bend State Park. It was really beautiful and cool because there where alligators everywhere! Jonny had never seen one, so it seemed like a good place to do so. When we first got there we noticed that their where these signs everywhere saying "Caution Alligators". First thing we did was walk to the pier and we saw a 6-7 foot alligator right under us. Jonny kept saying that he wanted to wrestle one, but after he saw the claws he quickly changed his mind. This was the first Gator that we saw, after that we saw more about every 40 feet it was really cool.

We saw Gators that were BIG, Medium, small, and baby small, we also saw plenty of turtles and birds. next time we go back we hope to see even more alligators out on the banks, maybe if its small enough ill let Jonny do a little wrestling !!:)
The State Park was only 55 min. from our apartment and a beautiful drive at that. Once we got there we realized it was really hot, but we enjoyed sitting on the benches looking at the lakes full of Lillie pads.

Even though I am now a HOLDEN, I still have to carry on the THOMAS tradition of "Yoohoos" or as Jonny like to call them "Yahoos". Its just not a true adventure if it does not have a Yoohoo involved, so for all you Thomas's out there.... Cheers!!
We loved the land, animals and our time spent together. We will be coming back here soon, its a great get away for a fun day.

Galveston, Texas Expedition

This week with Memorial day Jonny had 4 days off of work, so we took advantage and went down to the cost to see this so called AMAZING Galveston...... Well there was some beauty in some places but not on the beaches that is for sure. It made me miss NC and the great beaches we have out there. We went up on a Friday and spent all day walking the beaches and just really anywhere that looked interesting.
After walking on the beach and walking to the pier, we drove by a really, really cool cemetery sooo we stopped. We walked around there for a while taking pictures of the buildings and the beautiful land it was on. Some of the headstones where over 100 years old, it was really cool!!!! Below are just some of the pictures I snapped walking through, I think they turned out pretty neat.

Another cool thing we got to see was " The Pleasure Pier"  it was fun to walk to and to see it, but we got to a point where we had to pay to get on and we where not about to drop $45 for the both of us go walk through the theme park that was on it. ( Even though I really wanted to ride the fairies wheel, iv never ridden one before.) We walked back to our car and headed to our hotel for the night. The next morning was an interesting one..... We woke up and had an awesome breakfast with our TEXAS waffles and eggs, then went back to sleep for a few hrs.. When we got everything ready we checked out and went to the car to head to our next stop. I opened the trunk to put our bags in while Jonny filled the cooler with ice, and next thing I know I'm closing the trunk and right after I let it go I realized our KEYS WHERE STILL IN THE TRUNK !!!!!..... :( It was to late we where locked out of our car, but do not despair Jonny ran to the rescue, he did not even get frustrated. The picture below is Jonny breaking into our Honda Civic with a HANGER....

Little did I know my husband just happens to know how to break into a car, it took us about 30 min and a few dirty looks our way, but he got it open !:) HE SAVED THE DAY, while the whole time I just felt dumb for locking them in the truck in the first place....
EVEN though the day had a few bumps, we still had awesome delicious waffles that happen to make it better !!!

Driving home I was a little bummed that we didn't go and ride the fairies wheel, but about 30 min driving home we saw one out off the freeway. Jonny Jerked off to the exit and said, "We are getting on the fairies wheel no matter what." :) :) :) :) :) It took us a few minutes to find it, but we did and it only cost us a whole heaping $8 for the both of us! It meant a lot that my best friend was looking out for me and made it a great trip, ending it with a bang.:)

A Job Well Done !

ITS FINALLY FIXED and runs like new again! When we got married in December we bought a car from my parents, and we drove down to Texas with it. It worked great, but I remember driving this car before high school and it broke down soon after we got to Texas . ( We were blessed to make it to Texas at least) We made an awesome friend that was in our ward, that knew cars inside and out. For the past 4 months the guys have been working hard on it every Saturday.

Last Sunday we went up there and drove it back home, it was filthy dirty so on Monday we gave it a bath and cleaned the inside and it looks GREAT ! ( Even better than it was before) All we need now is a license plate and then we can start driving it around.

The picture below is when we started it up and took if for a spin around the block, that was its first spin in 4 months!!! It ran great and Jonny could not have been any more excited about how if ran and how much he had learned over the past months.

Its nice to have friends where ever we go and know that people will always be there to help, that is what is so great about this church! ( The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) We feel so blessed to have met Josh at the right time that we needed help. Now we have two great looking cars a truck that will be for sale shortly and most of all OPEN SATURDAYS !!!!!!!

The Best SOCCER Wife Ever

This year Jonny joined a Corporate Soccer league, with his company URS, what they do is just play the big companies around and at the end there is a champion for the year. The season started and we got Jonny everything that he needed, a soccer ball, cleats, socks, shinguards, and shorts he was prepared and ready to play. Below is a picture of some of his teammates in their last game, unfortunately it seems like every game someone gets hurt and cant play anymore so the team is being cut down quickly.
In this picture you can tell that they are all wet, that's because when we were driving there it was lightning and thundering like crazy. I was thinking for sure they would call the game off, but these guys are hard players and still wanted to play in the storm. Jonny plays defender and dose an awesome job at it. I am putting below just some pictures I snapped during the game on Wednesday. Jonny is #5 jersey number.

These were just two lightning bolts that I happen to catch on my phone, they were nothing compared to some other ones that we saw, but it was really cool to hear the thunder while they played.

My Studly husband in position and ready to start the game!!!

This is what it looked like around the end of the game it started clearing up and the sun peaking through, right before it went down.

A Perfect Date, With The Perfect Date!!!

It was just a normal Friday, when my husband and I decided to have an awesome date night out!!! :) He came home and I was all dressed up really fancy, handed him his vest and said lets go out!! Jonny knew exactly where we needed to go, Land and Cattle Stake house...... OHHHH SOOO GOOOD !!! We were all dressed up so fancy some people thought we were a prom couple... until they saw my ring. ( We had a laugh about that, guess we are both pretty young still :) )
The food was amazing, best we have had yet in Texas. Saltgrass  stake house has nothing on this place, just to let everyone know!!! When dinner was over we headed over to Wall-mart to pick up some essentials for the rest of our date... CHOCOLATE chips and face mask stuff! We got home washed our faces, put our PJ's on and headed for the kitchen to make the most amazing Chocolate Chip cookies ever !!!! (seriously they are AMAZING ill post the recipe.)

Really easy to make and makes a lot of extra dough. Soo after the cookies we enjoyed sitting on the couch and just watching a little tv. Perfect date with the Perfect person!! :) I love spending time with my best friend who does special things for me, and who loves me very much. ALSO he helps me bake my cookies, hes my Kitchen Aid with a heart.:p !!!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Jonny !!!!!!

Happy Birthday to my very sweet and handsome husband who is now 27 !!!!
(he just gets cuter every day)
Jonny's birthday was filled with two days of fun and surprises. He latter told me that it was the BEST birthday ever!!! ( that made me feel happy). Jonnys fun all started on Saturday where we went golfing on an 18 hole course. We ate lunch at the Sandbar Grill and then headed out for a whole day of fun together !!! Golfing is something that Jonny has taught me how to play and  how to love it! ( he was like a big kid all day with the biggest smile on his face).
Sunday morning I surprised him with breakfast in bed, then we went off to church to enjoy our new ward :)! When we got back I had our picnic basket packed and the blanket ready to go. It turned out to be a BEAUTIFUL day we lied undereath the trees and ate and just relaxed.
Jonny has been wanting and looking for a croquet set for a while now, so I went and bought him a nice set and had him open it in the park so we could play, he was so excited and happy to finally have his very own set :) !
Each and every day I am so thankful to have such an amazing husband. He is so sweet, caring, loving, and really, really patient!! There are so many things I am thankful for, and I count my husband twice. I can learn a lot form Jonny and we help each other become better and better every day. I am so happy that i can spend my forever with my best friend!!!

Jonny  just loves his nephews Mason and Deacon, and they love him to !!! :)

Welcome to the Holden Home!

Its now time to show off our new wonderful home, not everything is done but its close enough!! I made a walk through video and I will post some of the before and afters under the video. ( I still am not very good at taking before pics sorry) I hope you guys love it, sorry it has taken me so long to put it up here on our blog. It has been so much fun making our apartment a home.. It already had the love it just needed a little color!!! I hope you enjoy the movie !!! :) ( sorry if it makes you dissy)
BELOW is a YOUTUBE link, Click on it and you can watch the movie...!! :)

This is our coral dresser in our bedroom ( free) I wish I took a before pic but this is when I sanded it and started painting it.

These are our table and chairs before they were fixed up. The top of the table  is sanded but the chairs where not. This was a big project, but for $50 it was a deal !!!! We love it now :)

These are our night stands that we got at an estate sale both for $10. this was after I had scrubbed with soap and water for 2 hrs getting ready to sand. They smelt like smoke and had dog hair all over them. It reminded me of something that would come out of grandpas basement ewwww..... BUT now they are smell free and look amazing !!! pain in the but to paint though...

This is what our quote above our kitchen island is made out of. I washed it, sanded it, sealed it, put my quote on it, then sealed it again. Seems like a lot of work, but I think its fun to restore something to make it better or to make it into something new!!! :)

It was a lot of work putting together everything, but I loved every minute of it. I am so happy with our home I love it and its really a place that I can call our HOME! Its not 100% done yet, but it will be soon. I will keep posting the new things/ crafts that I do so you can see our progress. :)
