Sam Houston Raceway!

When we first got to Texas we herd that the horse races where a pretty popular thing. We bought tickets on Groupon for 4 tickets for $12 it was awesome!! We took our friends Ashton and Ryan on a double date! it was so fun we were right there up close during all of the races yelling and cheering our hourse on!
I Think its funny/ sad because I love horses so much, but my husband is allergic to them. The raceway has all kinds of history and fake statues of horses..so when Jonny walked up to the statue he said, " Now this is my favorite kind of horse!" He just had to take a picture with it.

Now with races there is always a little betting going on, and Jonny and I wanted to test our luck!!! We set a limit of $20 for all 10 races and when its gone, its gone.... Well Jonny got really, really into it betting here and there winning some and losing some, around half way it happened. Jonny looked at the paper and just KNEW that #1 horse was going to win, so he jumped up and yelled, " ITS A SURE THING BABY" and ran away to bet. The thing was he ran away before he actually saw the horse before the race. Well that horse had a limp, he was defiantly not going to win. Jonny came back and told me that he bet the remanding money on the "Sure thing horse." This is a video of what happened!!!!

Listen to the guy at the very end, "Dead Last"

Life On The Ranch

Ever since we arrived in Texas I have been dieing to go ridding! Well we are in lucky because my sister in law Kye has 4 horses. We all went up to Kye's parents ranch and we spent the day ridding, fishing on the lake and just haven fun! I was a little bummed because both David and Jonny caught a fish, but all I got was my darn bait stolen!!!!  Even with me not catching a fish, it was so nice to just relax and take it easy, having really nothing to do in the middle of nowhere! Yes, Jonny is allergic to horses, but he was fine we pumped him full of allergy medication and it worked like a charm. We stayed the night and listenened to the coyotes howl and the dogs bark all night...
Sonny was the horse that I rode, he was also the first horse that Kye had. Sonny was raised by dogs in a way so he does a lot of tricks. You can do anything to this horse and he will be ok with it! Kye showed me how to do this, and I thought it was awesome !!!

Honeymoon / Road Trip to Texas

Our Honeymoon may not have been the most traditional one, but it was the most adventurous one !!!

First stop was Charleston, South Carolina

First thing firsts, we went on a carriage tour of Charleston around the Bay and market area. It was so fun to see the history of the town and the beautiful, bright colors of the old homes! Jonny even bought me a  beautiful palm grass rose, a tradition that was brought over from Africa long, long ago. Charleston keeps that tradition alive.
We went to see the good Old Atlantic Ocean!! That was Jonnys first time seeing, and putting his toes in the cold water. He was so amazed of all the shells that where just laying around, guess they don't have that back at the Pacific. The water was to cold to get into, but I felt at home just standing and hearing the waves crash! Hopefully we will go back soon!!
Angel Oak was one of our favorite places to see, the tree was huge they said its 400 feet in diameter. It was a beautiful little drive to the tree, really felt like you where in the middle of nature. We enjoyed taking a walk down the trail. We noticed little while animals running around, as we got closer and they where little white squirrels. come to find out it was a save haven for the little white guys. It seemed like there where more white squirrels than gray, but maybe the gray just blended in better!

Morris Island Lighthouse was so beautiful! Its a really old light house that is now surrounded by water and stands as a landmark today. Jonny and I enjoyed hiking up to see it and walking on the beach. Jonny kept asking me if we could wade out to the light house, little did he know how deep it actually was. In the bottom left picture Jonny asked a man to take a picture saying, " Will you take a picture of my wife and I." This was the first time it hit both of us that we are married and we are husband / wife and we are on our own!!!

Next stop Atlanta, Georgia

The Atlanta Zoo was sooo big and loud with animals. I have fond memories of going to the zoo growing up, but this was Jonnys first time going!! We spent all day looking at the different animals form tigers to little monkey's to frogs. In some places I had to drag Jonny away from one area to go look at another, he was pretty excited! What can I say we are a bunch of monkeys ourselves:)!

The Coca-Cola factory was a lot of fun to! We got to see the famous polar bear himself, and even get a hug!!! We went from seeing old artifacts form when Coca-Cola was first invented in 1886 to new advertisements now! At the end of the tour we got to taste around 50 different Coca-Cola products around the world! Some of the drinks where really, really nasty. ( Never drink any soda form Europe) The best part was they make and bottle it right in front of you and at the end you get your own cold glass bottle..

Too New Orleans, Louisiana ...

We got to New Orleans really late and we checked into the our hotel, we went the New Orleans tourist rout. We stayed at an old hotel that use to be an old plantation house a long time ago. The hotel was cool at first then it started to get a little scary with it being next to a Voodoo Shop! That morning we woke and and realized how ugly  the city was!!! ( sorry if you are from there)  We walked around down town for an hour or two, with people looking at us like we where meat!! Soon after that we decided that we wanted to get out of there before dark! This was the only picture that we took while in New Orleans itself while driving our way down to Texas. The end was in sight and we where really excited to be finally driving to our new home state.

Better Together

The best day of my life was on 12-28-12, when I married my best friend forever!! It was an adventure getting to where we needed to be, but we did it and we could not be any happier!! :)
AND this is where it all started "This is the Place" where Jonny Popped the BIG question. I knew that sadly Jonny and I would not be returning to BYU-Idaho any time soon, and wanted to get a picture of how it was before its made into a parking lot. This field was where Jonny asked me to be his girlfriend and also his wife! Such wonderful memories that we shared in Rexburg we will miss it, but excited to move on to the married life!!!
When we took engagement pictures it was so much fun, thanks to our great Photographer Sabrina Lewis, with Sabrina Lewis photography, we got some great shots! Out of all of them this one was our favorite, I just love seeing my husbands handsome smile :)!
This was the moment that said it all!!!! WE DID IT, and we could not be any happier. I remember everyone in there winter coats while, Jonny and I where so pumped full of excitement we didn't even feel it!
And this was the moment where I was so thankful to have such a wonderful family that helped, loved, and supported Jonny and I the whole way. There would have been no way that I could have planned the wedding by myself, I'm so grateful to have such an amazing family on both sides!!! We are truly blessed!
This picture by far is my most favorite of my brothers and sisters! They are so amazing and I feel so blessed to have had each of them. The last of the Thomas Empire is Wedded!

AND THE ADVENTURES BEGIN!!!!
